The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has intensified its drive to make the capital city rabies-free by 2030. In just 73 days, over 35,395 stray dogs (approx. 75%) have been vaccinated against rabies. Collaborative efforts by the City Rabies Task Force and Mission Rabies are managing the drive with 15 specialized teams. Alongside vaccination, dog sterilization is also prioritized, with 10,000 procedures completed so far. A new infrastructure of 120 dog kennels was inaugurated to support the cause. Mayor Sulochana Das announced that the vaccination campaign will continue annually every March for the next three years to achieve the goal. https://sambad.in/metro/35395-dogs-vaccinated-in-73-days-12028990 #creator program
