Constable Ashutosh Mrudangia passed away at AIIMS Bhubaneswar while undergoing treatment for severe burn injuries. Before his death, he alleged that his wife and brother-in-law had set him on fire by pouring petrol on him at the Bijipur police quarters in Berhampur. He had sustained 60% burns and was placed on a ventilator after his condition worsened.
