Hundreds of mysterious snake (Naga) idols were discovered in the Mahanadi river near Ogalpur, Cuttack. Local youths found the idols while bathing on Friday morning. Initially, a 3-4 foot tall idol was recovered, followed by nearly 100 smaller ones. The villagers performed rituals and relocated the idols to the Sambeswar Dev Shiva Temple. It is suspected that the idols might have been dumped in the river by thieves fearing capture.
