Cashew production in Bhograi block of Balasore district has significantly declined due to intense heatwaves and pest attacks. Despite covering 630 hectares of land, the yield has dropped below the annual average of 880 quintals. This has led to price hikes in local markets, but farmers are not profiting due to the lack of processing units and exploitation by traders from neighboring West Bengal. Local farmers are now demanding government intervention to protect their livelihoods. https://sambad.in/special/cashew-yield-is-decreasing-due-to-the-effect-of-summer-11888522 #creator program
