The Pune Additional Sessions Court has rejected the bail application of Rishikesh Vaidya, a self-proclaimed godman accused of raping a woman under the pretext of possessing divine powers. The 39-year-old accused, a resident of Vasai, befriended the victim on social media before committing the crime. He was arrested by Hadapsar police following a complaint filed on March 27. Public prosecutor Leena Pathak argued that granting bail could hamper the ongoing investigation as the chargesheet is yet to be filed.
