In the Banur Municipal Council elections, Baljit Singh of AAP was elected President and Lakhwinder Singh as Vice President amid heavy police presence. Seven councilors, including four AAP rebels and three from Congress, alleged that the police forcibly prevented them from entering the voting room. Protesting members claimed the process was illegal and undemocratic, vowing to challenge it in court. Media persons were also reportedly restricted from covering the event, leading to protests by the local press club.
