Water inflow in Bhakra, Pong, and Pandoh dams has significantly decreased due to a weak monsoon and less snowmelt in the Himalayan region. Bhakra Dam's water level is currently 1,587.12 feet, which is 17 feet lower than last year. The reservoir is only 35% full compared to 44% last year, with Tuesday's inflow recorded at 36,866 cusecs against 77,741 cusecs on the same day last year. This decline poses a potential challenge for the lifeline states of Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
