On the 10th day of Rath Yatra, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra appear before devotees in the magnificent Suna Besha, adorned with over 200 kg of sacred gold ornaments. The tradition is linked to Gajapati Kapilendra Deva, who surrendered the wealth of his victories at Mahaprabhu’s lotus feet. Suna Besha reminds us that every crown, triumph and treasure ultimately belongs to Jagannath. Gold does not make Mahaprabhu glorious.
