AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has removed several district secretaries and office bearers from their positions for supporting the Velumani and C.V. Shanmugam factions. Following the assembly election defeat, the party has split, and 25 MLAs were previously ousted for supporting the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government.
