The Jamadhia Government Upper Primary School in Mohana block, Odisha, has been severely damaged by a summer storm (Kalabaisakhi) on June 1. The tin roof was blown away and a tree fell on a classroom, breaking the wall. Despite schools reopening after summer vacation, repairs have not been done. Currently, students from Class 1 to 8 are forced to study in only two remaining rooms. Villagers are demanding a permanent concrete building instead of tin roofs, noting that the school had suffered similar damage during the 2018 Titli cyclone.
