The West Bengal government has intensified security along the India-Bangladesh border by handing over 142.79 acres of land to the BSF for constructing fences and outposts. This move aims to curb cattle smuggling and illegal infiltration. Home Minister Amit Shah praised the initiative, noting that the 'identify, isolate, and deport' policy is being implemented. Currently, 386 individuals, including suspected Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, are held in detention centers across border districts. The security measures have boosted confidence among villagers living near the international boundary.
