Legendary Odia litterateur, researcher, and artist Jagannath Prasad Das, popularly known as JP, has passed away. A 1958-batch IAS officer, he resigned from service to dedicate his life to literature and art research. He was a versatile genius—poet, playwright, novelist, and art historian. His work 'Desha Kala Patra' is considered a masterpiece in Odia literature. He significantly contributed to bringing Odisha's Pattachitra and palm-leaf art to the international stage.
