The Ministry of Defence has granted permission to NHAI to use 2.7461 acres of land at Chandimandir Military Station for the 1,983 crore Zirakpur-Panchkula bypass project. In exchange, NHAI will construct 32 married accommodation units for the army. This 19.2 km bypass and 10.3 km spur are part of the Tricity ring road project aimed at decongesting Zirakpur.
