Awareness Programme on Red Cross Day in Srinagar Spreads Message of Humanity Among Students An awareness programme was organised in Srinagar on the occasion of World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, where students were educated about the humanitarian services of the Red Cross Society and its role in society. Van Pustakalaya in Patnitop Promotes Eco-Tourism At the famous tourist destination of Patnitop in Jammu and Kashmir, a ‘Van Pustakalaya’ (Forest Library) was inaugurated with the aim of promoting environmental awareness and eco-tourism. On the occasion, students from local schools presented drawings on themes related to the environment and ecology. चंबा कढ़ाई कला को नया जीवन: कठुआ में महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की पहल जम्मू-कश्मीर के कठुआ जिले में प्राचीन चंबा कढ़ाई कला को पुनर्जीवित करने के लिए हैंडीक्राफ्ट और हैंडलूम विभाग ने ‘करखानदार योजना’ के तहत एक विशेष प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम शुरू किया है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य न केवल इस पारंपरिक कला को संरक्षित करना है, बल्कि महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाकर उनके सामाजिक-आर्थिक विकास को भी बढ़ावा देना है। हैंडिक्राफ्ट एंड हैंडलूम विभाग जम्मू के निर्देशन में चंबा कढ़ाई जैसी विलुप्त होती कला को नया जीवन देने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। यह कला कभी जम्मू और हिमाचल प्रदेश के पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में बेहद लोकप्रिय थी और अपनी बारीक चित्रात्मक शैली के लिए जानी जाती है। कठुआ जिले के हिरानगर तहसील के गांव कूटाह में एक विशेष प्रशिक्षण केंद्र स्थापित किया गया है, जहां स्थानीय महिलाओं को चंबा कढ़ाई की उन्नत ट्रेनिंग दी जा रही है। #11 May के अपडेट

Under the guidance of the Department of Handicrafts and Handloom Jammu, efforts are being made to breathe new life into the fading art of Chamba embroidery. This craft was once highly popular in the hilly regions of Jammu and Himachal Pradesh and is known for its intricate pictorial style.
